Brewer

Description

Collective Arts is looking for a Brewer to join our Brewing team to help support during the summer months. In this role you will report directly to the Assistant Brewing Managers under the direction of the Brewing Manager and is responsible for supporting, monitoring and carrying out brewhouse and cellar operations. The Brewer is expected to exhibit quality, efficiency and consistency in their work in the Brewhouse and in everything they do.

Role Details
  • Full time, 6 month contract  
  • 8 and 10 hour shifts available 
  • Shift start times: 7:00am, 3:00pm, 11:00pm
  • March / April 2025 available   
A typical day as a Brewer includes:
  • Operation of 60hL Brewhouse
  • Line and Fermentation vessel Cleaning (CIP)
  • Lifting and handling of raw ingredients including malt, hops and yeast.
  • Dry Hopping
  • Provide feedback on recipes, product quality, machinery function and automation function. 
  • General brewery cleaning tasks
  • Being a key component of the Collective Arts quality program
  • Follow the supervisor’s or the team leader’s directives on priority or process.

We’re looking for candidates who have/are:
  • High School or equivalent education, College Diploma
  • Brewing specific post-secondary education is an asset
  • 1+ years’ work experience in a brewery/brewpub environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of materials and equipment used within beer production is an asset 
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A self-starter with great energy, positive attitude and passion for beer and craft beverages 
  • Maintaining a professional attitude in stressful situations
Physical Requirements:
  • Comfortable carrying out highly repetitive and/or monotonous tasks 
  • Carrying, lifting heavy items, transferring, lifting pushing items, operating heavy equipment
  • Ability to lift 20kgs repetitively throughout a shift  
  • Standing for long periods of time in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to work in a high temperature or cold environment
