Staff Accountant
Description
Collective Arts is searching for a detail-oriented and results-driven Staff Accountant to support our Finance team. This role will be based out of our Hamilton location and offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and rapidly growing company. Reporting directly to the Manager, Financial Reporting this role will focus on streamlining accounting operations, reconciliations, and assisting with special projects. You will also play a key role in supporting the finance team through the month-end close and annual reporting cycles.
A typical day as a Staff Accountant will include
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Processing invoices relating to several business channels
- Assisting with inventory discrepancies relating to sales depletions
- Preparing journal entries & account reconciliations
- Processing intercompany invoices and maintaining intercompany accounts
- Processing employee expenses and credit card transactions
- Reconciling petty cash, tip liability and gift card liability accounts
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align reporting with business strategies
- Supporting AR / AP through project implementation to improve workflows and
- Special projects, as required
How your time will be organized:
- Month-End Close & Reconciliations (30%): Completing month-end close activities, including reconciliation of multiple general ledger accounts
- Invoice Processing (30%): Processing invoices across multiple business channels
- Ad Hoc Projects & Support (15%): Participating in special projects and supporting various ad hoc finance initiatives
- Employee Expenses & Credit Cards (10%): Processing employee expense reports and corporate credit card transactions
- Bank Deposits & Cash Application (10%): Reviewing and processing bank deposits related to sales invoices
- Inventory Support (5%): Assisting with investigation and resolution of inventory discrepancies tied to sales depletions
We’re looking for candidates who have/are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field of study
- An Accounting specialization is preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in a finance/analytical role
- Currently enrolled in the CPA program, or working toward designation
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with a strong focus in Excel
- Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills and a good mathematical aptitude
- Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Bonus points if you:
- Have worked in a scaling start-up or growth-stage business environment
- Have knowledge of the Brewing/Manufacturing Industry

Compensation
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
